Each year, we’re amazed by the number of students – from primary school to university – who choose Burwood Chinatown as the focus of their school projects and creative work. Whether it’s a drawing, a story, a video, or a research report, we love seeing how young minds interpret and engage with our precinct. To celebrate this growing interest, we’re launching an annual student competition to showcase and reward your incredible ideas.

Who Can Enter
Any student from primary school, high school, TAFE, college or university who has created a project related to Burwood Chinatown.

⭕️ Each person can only submit one work
What to Submit
We welcome a broad range of submissions, including:
🎨 Drawings or artworks
📚 Stories, poems, or essays
📷 Videos or short films
🎒 School assignments or research projects
💡 Design, architecture or marketing ideas
🖊️ Any other creative or academic work connected to Burwood Chinatown
Display Opportunities
With the student’s permission, selected works may be displayed throughout the Burwood Chinatown precinct or featured on our digital platforms as part of an ongoing community showcase. It’s our way of celebrating young talent and sharing your creativity with the wider community.

Burwood Chinatown is a place for all generations, cultures and ideas. We want to celebrate how students of all ages see and experience our precinct – and support the creative and academic journeys of young people across Australia.
