Burwood Chinatown Precinct Project – Expression of Interest (EOI)

Burwood Council invites Sydney based artists or collectives to submit an application for the Burwood Chinatown Precinct Project. Located in the heart of Burwood’s CBD, Burwood Chinatown is a dining and retail precinct best known for its authentic Asian street food.

This opportunity is to create a mural and design a lighting installation on the corner of Railway Parade and Clarendon Place Burwood, which is a highly prominent location within the Burwood Area.

Burwood Council, working together with Burwood Chinatown and supported by 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, wishes to commission an artist or collective to lead this project. Council is seeking an artist or collective to create a socially-engaged public artwork which celebrates cultural diversity and harmony. By working directly with local stakeholders the artist or collective will design and create a contemporary mural and light installation.

Artists of culturally diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
